Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin and Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton Alikhanov co-chaired a meeting of the State Council commission on small and medium-sized businesses.
Taking part in the meeting were Deputy Minister of Economic Development Tatyana Ilyushnikova, Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov, Governor of the Pskov Region Mikhail Vedernikov, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises Alexander Dyomin, as well as representatives of regional governments, federal executive bodies, sectoral business associations, expert organisations and development institutions.
In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin noted the importance of monitoring efforts to carry out the Presidential instructions on small and medium-sized businesses, stressing the strategic goal of integrating the new Russian regions into the national socioeconomic space by offering federal support to small and medium-sized businesses.
SME Corporation’s Director General Alexander Isayevich, President of OPORA Russia public association Alexander Kalinin, as well as representatives of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics took the floor during the commission meeting and presented their proposals. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko shared Crimea’s experience in adopting Russian laws governing business activity.
Participants in the meeting discussed regional policies to harmonise socioeconomic development levels in Russia’s new regions and the importance of SMEs as regional economic drivers.
