Vladimir Putin held a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council.
The meeting participants had a detailed exchange of views in light of the President’s upcoming address at the UN General Assembly and also discussed the situation in the Middle East, in particular, the situation in Syria.
Current domestic policy matters were also discussed.
Taking part in the meeting were State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev.
