Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office visited Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK).
Sergei Ivanov visited the Production Design and Acting departments, the training studio and learned about the construction of the university’s new building.
The Chief of Staff met with the faculty and discussed topical issues of Russian filmmaking, including the revival of the documentary film studio and the establishment of a federal debut centre for young filmmakers.
Mr Ivanov also congratulated the faculty on the university receiving the status of a specially protected cultural heritage site of the peoples of Russia, which was given to the university in April 2013. “It is our treasure trove and we must support its development,” the Chief of Staff said.
