Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin held a meeting on developing domestic tourism and the hospitality industry in Vladimir.
The meeting was attended by Governor of the Primorye Territory and Head of the State Council working group Oleg Kozhemyako, acting Governor of the Vladimir Region Alexander Avdeyev, Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko, Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergei Melikov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Yevgeny Chukhnov, representatives of federal executive government bodies, regions of the Russian Federation, public organisations, development institutions and the business community.
Igor Levitin noted in his opening remarks that those in charge of the preparations for the State Council Presidium meeting on the development of tourism in the Russian Federation studied all aspects of promoting tourism and drafted proposals to improve the system of government management in the industry, to increase the effectiveness of budget funding for creating and upgrading the tourism infrastructure, improving logistics and reducing transportation costs for tourists.
The participants discussed the development of tourism using the Vladimir Region as an example. Alexander Avdeyev told the attendees about key projects on organising cultural, educational, business and gastronomical tourism in the Vladimir Region and in other regions with cities on Russia’s Golden Ring. They also discussed preserving unique monuments, supporting folk crafts, maintaining and creating cultural and historical spaces in the urban environment and upgrading tourist routes.
Representatives from the regions and the business community described regional practices on supporting tourism business projects.
The many proposals will be taken into account during preparations for the State Council Presidium meeting.
