Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov held a meeting of the Rostelecom Board of Directors.
In his opening remarks, Mr Ivanov said that despite objective economic difficulties, Rostelecom has, in general, successfully coped with all its tasks.
The objective deterioration of performance in the company’s established segment, which is the provision of landline services, has been almost fully offset by strong growth in new lines of business, primarily, interactive television and cloud services.
Rostelecom President Sergei Kalugin reported on the implementation of the 2015 budget, focusing on the company’s financial stability, steady expansion of its subscriber network, active marketing of new products, and strict compliance with its social commitments to employees.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed Rostelecom’s procurement business. In particular, Mr Ivanov pointed out that the procurement system is, without a doubt, one of the key criteria for evaluating any company’s effectiveness, and the fact that Rostelecom has saved over 50 billion rubles in procurement over the past three years speaks volumes.
Such high performance stems from the full transition of the procurement business to electronic form, better competitiveness, direct ties with manufacturers, clear separation of authority among officials, and the use of corruption-proof practices.
Sergei Ivanov heads the Board of Directors of Rostelecom, which is one of Europe's largest nationwide telecommunications companies operating across all communication service market segments and serving millions of Russian households.
