During her trip to Voronezh Region, Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Anna Kuznetsova toured the regional perinatal centre, a children’s home and the Parus Nadezhdy (Sail of Hope) rehabilitation centre for children with disabilities.
At the Centre for Child Psychological and Pedagogical Support and Development, Ms Kuznetsova met with representatives of the regional Association of Foster Families and specialists who help women and children in difficult circumstances. The Commissioner for Children's Rights discussed the results of the trip with Governor of Voronezh Region Alexei Gordeyev.
The key topic of discussion during the meeting between the Commissioner and the Governor was defending the rights of minors in need of social protection. On a separate note, they discussed ways of arranging foster families and permanent placement for orphans and children left without parental care, providing housing for orphans, as well as providing social support to mothers and children in difficult circumstances.
