Dmitry Medvedev expressed his condolences to King Harald V of Norway and Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg in connection with the tragic events in the country.
The message of condolences to King Harald V reads, in part:
“Please accept my deepest condolences on the tragedy that has struck Norway, claiming many innocent lives. You can be certain that in this difficult time we sincerely empathise and stand in solidarity with the friendly people of Norway.
I am confident that those who organised and carried out these merciless and senseless crimes will be brought to justice and punished.
Please convey my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and my sympathy and wishes for speedy recovery to those injured.”

The message to Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg reads, in part:
”Please accept my deepest condolences on the tragic events in Norway on July 22, which took the lives of many defenceless, innocent civilians.
We strongly condemn these heinous crimes for which there are no and can be no vindication or justification. We are confident that the organisers and perpetrators will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Please convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved families and sympathy to all those injured.”
