Mr Belykh briefed Vladimir Putin on the region’s socioeconomic situation and the development results for 2015.
Mr Belykh reported that industrial production was 103.5 percent of the figure for 2014. The processing and manufacturing sectors were the main drivers of this growth, including the defence industry, the chemical industry, food processing and timber processing. The region’s agriculture sector also produced quite good results.
Last year was also marked by the construction of many new social infrastructure facilities in the region, in particular, kindergartens and cultural centres in small towns. Mr Belykh noted that three years ago the President launched the start of a programme to build a space centre for children. This project will be completed this year and will combine entertainment and educational functions.
