Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Yury Kokov, at which he announced the decision to appoint Mr Kokov acting head of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Dmitry Medvedev approved a list of instructions issued following a March meeting on the North Caucasus tourism cluster development.

The republic's socioeconomic and labour market situation were the subjects of discussion.

The President heard reports from Head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and Minister of the Interior Rashid Nurgaliyev on the investigation into the attack on the Baksan Hydroelectric Power Plant and a report by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin on his trip to Kabardino-Balkaria. Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Arsen Kanokov also took part in the meeting.
