On April 18–19, 2024, Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova made a working trip to the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhye Region. One of the main goals of her trip was to help the new regions build an effective system of preventing social orphanhood and to support the families in a difficult situation.

Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova made a working trip to the Tambov Region. It was devoted to support for children and families with children.

Following Maria Lvova-Belova’s instruction, the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights created an emergency group of lawyers to provide targeted assistance to families affected by the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall. Families of the injured can call a special hotline.

With the assistance of Presidential Commissioner for the Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova and through the mediation of Qatar, five more children were reunited with their relatives living in Ukraine. In addition, one teenager who lived in Ukraine was returned to his family in Russia.
