The President signed Executive Order On Early Termination of Mandate of the Head of the Republic of Tuva.

On August 1–3, Vladimir Putin made a two-day stop in Tyva, southern Siberia, on his way to Blagoveshchensk. The President went to hard-to-access taiga, fished in a mountain lake cascade, went spearfishing, sunbathed, went down mountain rivers, rapids and anabranches on powerboats and rafts, went on mountain hikes on foot and quads.

Mr Kara-ool briefed the President on measures the region is taking to support young families and develop the transport and energy-sector infrastructure.

The Head of the Republic briefed the President on the socioeconomic situation in the region.

Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin held the second meeting of the State Council Presidium’s working group on developing Russia’s fisheries sector.

During the conversation, which took place on Friday after the State Council Presidium meeting, Dmitry Medvedev and Sholban Kara-ool discussed the potential for electric power development in Tuva.
