Newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy has been introduced to the heads of Urals Federal District regions

June 4, 2012, Yekaterinburg

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov introduced newly appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy Igor Kholmanskikh to the governors of the regions in the Urals Federal District.

Sergei Ivanov stressed that the priority tasks to be tackled by the new envoy include the implementation of the gubernatorial election reform and ensuring that there are alternative candidates for any state position. Other challenges facing the envoy are associated with the Russian President’s pre-election articles, as well as the implementation of 11 executive orders signed by Vladimir Putin on May 7, the inauguration day. These documents affect all spheres of public life: the socio-economic sector, infrastructure and security.

In turn, Igor Kholmanskikh said that he believes his main task to be maintaining a dialogue between members of the public and the authorities. In the economy, the new Presidential Envoy considers it his priority to work on reducing dependence on raw materials exports and support for innovative production technologies.

Igor Kholmanskikh was appointed Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District by the Presidential Executive Order of May 18, 2012.
