The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office stressed that any decision, action or intent within the framework of the state cultural policy has to take into account Russia’s ethnic, cultural and religious diversity. The ability of Russian society to develop and progress directly depends on the personal qualities of each individual. We can preserve the unique character of our civilisation and its ability to develop, ensure Russia’s cultural unity and flourishing only by creating conditions for the shaping of personalities that are characterised by high moral values, independent thinking, creativity and civic responsibility, Sergei Ivanov said.
Speaking at the meeting, Presidential Adviser Vladimir Tolstoy made the point that the task is not only to have the Basics of the State Cultural Policy approved, but also to develop the relevant strategy for its implementation. Mr Tolstoy said that the draft was put for public discussion online, and dozens of thousands of people sent in their comments.
