Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Dmitry Medvedev congratulated President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Neutrality Day, the country’s national holiday.

Dmitry Medvedev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed a broad range of bilateral cooperation issues, in particular trade and economic ties and joint projects in energy, agriculture, transport, telecommunications, and humanitarian sector, as well as a number of regional issues.

The first conversation between Dmitry Medvedev and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took place at the Turkmenbashi airport.

The presidents of Russia and Turkmenistan discussed key issues of bilateral relations and noted the positive cooperation dynamics in several areas. Mr Medvedev and Mr Berdimuhamedov expressed their satisfaction with the work of the Intergovernmental Commission and the development of interregional ties, which is of major practical importance for the Russian-Turkmen relations.
