Presentation of master plans for core communities in the Arctic

March 27, 2025, Murmansk

The Head of State was presented with master plans for core communities in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation.

Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov delivered the principal report on the topic.

Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrei Chibis and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Alexander Moiseyev outlined the development of the Murmansk, Kirovsk-Apatity, and Monchegorsk metropolitan areas, as well as closed administrative-territorial entities and communities in the Arctic Zone where military units are stationed.

Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybulsky’s presentation focused on the development of the Arkhangelsk metropolitan area, while Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Artyukhov addressed the Salekhard-Labytnangi, Novy Urengoy, and Noyabrsk metropolitan areas. Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov presented plans for the Norilsk-Dudinka, Dikson, and Igarka metropolitan areas.

President Vladimir Putin was joined in reviewing the reports by Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Maxim Oreshkin, and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Northwestern Federal District Alexander Gutsan.
