Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, the VTB United League’s honorary president, attended a meeting of the VTB United League’s Council.
Mr Ivanov told journalists after the meeting that the League’s budget was outlined and the list of participants in the 2016–2017 season was approved while VTB United League President Sergei Kushchenko was re-elected for the next term. The issues pertaining to attracting new sponsors and arranging TV broadcasting of the championship were also discussed.
The VTB United League is a basketball tournament established in 2008 that brings together the leading basketball clubs of Eastern and Northern Europe. In the 2016–2017 season, 14 basketball clubs will play in the VTB United League.
