Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov presented Andrei Vorobyov as Acting Governor of the Moscow Region to members of the regional Government and the heads of several municipalities.
According to Sergei Ivanov, the priority areas the Acting Governor will need to address first are social issues, transport, housing and immigration.
Sergei Shoigu resigned as Moscow Region Governor following his appointment to the post of Defence Minister. Vladimir Putin appointed Andrei Vorobyov Acting Governor of the Moscow Region until the inauguration of the elected Moscow Region Governor in September 2013.
