During the telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin and President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas exchanged warm greetings on the upcoming New Year.
Following up from the discussions held during the November 23 meeting in Sochi, the two leaders exchanged opinions of their bilateral interaction and the Middle East peace settlement. In particular, they underscored the need for resuming constructive Palestinian-Israeli talks as soon as possible under the auspices of the Middle East Quartet of international mediators.
