April 19, 2022, Kazan

Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin, and Kemerovo Region Governor and Chairman of the State Council Commission on Energy Sergei Tsivilev co-chaired a regular meeting of the working group to prepare a State Council session on energy saving and higher energy efficiency in the Russian Federation.

The event was held in Kazan as part of the Tatarstan international forum on energy and the efficiency of energy resources. It was attended by President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the State Council Commission on Construction, Housing and Urban Environment Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Buryatia and Chairman of the State Council Commission on Transport Alexei Tsydenov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ilya Torosov, representatives of related federal ministries, regional executive bodies and businesses.

Igor Levitin noted that the state programme on energy saving up to 2035, being drafted in accordance with the President’s instructions, should use the best practices of the regions. At the same time, the funding of regional events should not become an additional burden for them. He emphasised that all equipment and technical solutions that are covered by the state programme must be of Russian make.

The participants will prepare proposals on saving energy and enhancing efficiency in transport and industry for incorporation into the state program. They will also draft proposals on these issues for consideration by the State Council.

During his visit to Tatarstan, Igor Levitin attended the 12th international specialised exhibition on energy saving and power efficiency. He took part in a session of the Tatarstan government on implementing the republic’s programme on the efficiency of energy resources in Tatarstan in 2021 and goals for 2022.
