Dmitry Medvedev congratulated road construction workers on the opening of the more than 2,000 km of Amur federal motorway.
The message reads, in part:
“This road has immense importance not just for the Far Eastern Federal District but for the entire country’s social and economic development as it will ensure year-round road traffic between Moscow and Vladivostok, serve as a key link in the longest state highway in the world, and form a part of the global transport corridor.
Today, these more than 2,000 kilometres of new road have been opened thanks to the professionalism and selfless efforts of the designers, engineers, and builders. This event has been long awaited by everyone in Russia, and especially our drivers, who can now travel freely across the entire country.”
