October 19, 2012

The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office has arrived in France to take part in the events dedicated to the completion of the Moscow-Paris Horse Cavalry March held in honour of the 200th anniversary of Russia’s victory in the 1812 Patriotic War.

On the first day of the visit, Sergei Ivanov met with Chief of Staff to the French President Pierre-Rene Lemas at the Elysee Palace in Paris. Mr Ivanov and Mr Lemas discussed the future of the Russian-French relations in the light of the agreements reached at the talks between Vladimir Putin and Francois Hollande in Paris in June.

On Saturday, the Chief of Staff of the Russian President will visit the Museum of the Lifeguards Cossack Regiment in Courbevoie, which holds the relics of Russian cavalry units.

The central event on the visit agenda will be the closing ceremony of the Moscow-Paris Horse Cavalry March, which will be held at the hippodrome in Fontainebleau.
