Working visit by Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov to Austria

November 30, 2012, Vienna

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov made a working visit to Austria. Mr Ivanov had talks in Vienna with President of Austria Heinz Fischer and Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger, and spoke at the International Anti-Corruption Academy’s assembly.

Mr Ivanov began his visit by laying flowers at the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator, raised to honour the memory of the Soviet soldiers killed during the liberation of Vienna in the spring of 1945.

Mr Ivanov then met with Austrian President Heinz Fischer to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation and a number of international issues.

The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office took part in the International Anti-Corruption Academy’s assembly, noting in his address to the meeting that Russia is ready to play a more active part in international anti-corruption efforts. Vladimir Putin’s decision to delegate Presidential Adviser Sergei Dubik to the International Anti-Corruption Academy’s Board is one step in this direction, Mr Ivanov said.

Mr Ivanov also met with Austrian Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger, with whom he discussed bilateral cooperation and Russia-EU relations.
