Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov took part in the Transport of Russia International Forum and Exhibition.
Mr Ivanov said in his remarks at the event that raising the Russian transport system’s competitiveness and removing infrastructure obstacles to economic growth are priority tasks for state policy.
Mr Ivanov noted too, that this year saw the launch of a programme to subsidise transport on 32 regional routes in the Northwestern, Siberian, Urals and Far Eastern federal districts, and a pilot project for federal and regional co-financing of flights between federal subjects in the Volga region has also begun operation. Mr Ivanov said that these measures will increase the volume of regional air transport by a third by 2015.
Mr Ivanov visited the exhibition and read out Vladimir Putin’s greetings to the forum’s participants.
