Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov participated in the Current Issues in Regional Policy seminar meeting, held on December 1–3 for senior officials from Russian federal constituent entities.
In his speech, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office drew particular attention to the need to seek new formats for building systemic dialogue between the authorities and civil society.
In addition, Sergei Ivanov noted the significance of implementing an active youth policy, stressing that it is imperative to implement monitoring of youth environments and for each region to offer an extensive programme of creative activities.
Speaking about the importance of import substitution, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office called for creating corresponding road maps in all sectors. “I feel that this work must be started immediately, so that we can begin carrying it out at the federal district level in the first quarter of 2015,” Mr Ivanov stressed.
Participants in the seminar meeting include representatives from executive regional agencies of the Russian Federation involved in domestic and social policy, and invitations were extended to the heads of regional civic chambers. Speakers included Presidential Executive Office leadership, federal ministers and representatives from the expert community.
In addition to regional policy issues, special attention will be given to the social sector, education and culture during the event.
