Visit to Jews in the Great Patriotic War exhibition at Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre

November 23, 2015, Moscow

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov visited the exhibition Jews in the Great Patriotic War at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre.

The exhibition at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War, rather than covering collective heroism, tells the story of separate individuals who drew nearer the victory over Nazism. The exhibits include a large number of documentary materials, manuscripts and photographs.

In his opening address, Sergei Ivanov said the exhibition would become an important milestone in the effort to preserve the truth about the Great Patriotic War. He said it was unique in that it showed the contribution made by the Jewish people to Victory not only through official documents and public archive materials, but also through personal photographs, diaries and letters of the participants in the war that were preserved by their descendants.

The exhibition Jews in the Great Patriotic War is open from November 24, 2015, until January 17, 2016.
