Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin held a meeting on implementing presidential instructions issued following a State Council Presidium meeting on developing Russia’s fisheries sector.
Taking part in the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far East Federal District Yury Trutnev, Governor of Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Ilyukhin, Governor of Primorye Territory Vladimir Miklushevsky, Governor of the Magadan Region Vladimir Pecheny, Deputy Minister for Far East Development Sergei Kachayev, Deputy Director of the Federal Fisheries Agency Peter Savchuk, regional executive officials from the Far East Federal District, and representatives of public organisations and business communities.
The participants discussed modernising and developing port and fisheries infrastructure, using public-private partnership mechanisms for raising private investment, and the situation with transporting fish products from the Far East to central Russia in refrigerated containers via sea, road and rail.
Mr Levitin noted that the sector has not yet made full use of the development opportunities implementation of the presidential instructions offers.
