Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin, together with Ivanovo Region Governor Stanislav Voskresensky in charge of the State Council’s Healthcare working group, held a second meeting of the working group to prepare a State Council meeting on developing the national healthcare system.
Taking part in the meeting were deputy ministers of healthcare, industry and trade as well as labour and social protection, plus governors of Russian regions and their deputies in charge of social policy and healthcare, representatives of the concerned federal executive bodies, research institutions and expert organisations.
Stanislav Voskresensky reported on the group’s efforts to analyse the proposals submitted by federal and regional executive bodies, as well as members of the working group.
Following an analysis of these proposals, it was decided to further elaborate and add to the report the subjects of healthy lifestyles and improving the primary care system, principally through the further development of medical infrastructure and by addressing the problem of staff shortages.
It was pointed out that the accessibility and quality of medical services are among the top three poll choices. The efforts of the State Council must help to increase the satisfaction of the public when it comes to medical services in the regions.
The participants also coordinated the timeframes for preparing the draft report and for holding the next meeting of the working group.
