Socially oriented non-profit organisations receive Presidential grants

The Coordination Committee on running contests for Presidential grants for civic society development, chaired by First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Kiriyenko, summarised the results of this year’s second competition of the Presidential Grants Foundation.

According to a decision by the Coordination Committee, Presidential grants worth a total of 4.6 billion rubles will be presented to 2,402 non-profit organisations in 84 regions.

Overall, 11,085 projects were submitted for the contest – a record number in the entire history of the system of grant support of non-profit organisations since 2006.

Out of the 2,402 supported initiatives, 511 are directly related to the elimination of the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic and assistance to people from the risk groups. They will receive a total of 1.2 billion rubles.

Considering the results of the first contest whose winners were announced on February 21, 2020, this year’s grants will be presented for the implementation of 4,419 socially significant projects by non-profit organisations worth a total of 8.7 billion rubles.

In the course of the eight contests held by the Presidential Grants Foundation in the period between April 2017 and June 2020, 14,977 projects received support worth a total of 30.9 billion rubles.
