Meeting of State Council Commission on Science

Aide to the President and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin and Novosibirsk Region Governor Andrei Travnikov co-chaired a meeting of the State Council Commission on Science.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekirinsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education Sergei Kabyshev, Head of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property Yury Zubov, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, General Director of National Priorities autonomous non-profit Sofia Malyavina, Head of Talent and Success Educational Foundation Yelena Shmelyova, officials from related regional and federal government bodies, the Russian Academy of Sciences and leading higher education institutions, as well as the academic and expert community.

In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin noted that, given the circumstances, the key goal was to establish effective cooperation between research and companies from the real sector of the economy in order to address applied problems that are of paramount importance for achieving breakthroughs in the manufacturing industry. These issues will soon be reviewed at a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council.

Head of the State Council Commission on Science Andrei Travnikov reported on the commission's performance in 2022 and presented a work plan for the current year.

Sofia Malyavina covered progress in implementing the action plan for Science and Technology Decade in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The participants focused on holding the 10th International Technological Development Forum Technoprom 2023 in August.

They also exchanged views on various aspects of implementing developments and technologies in the real economy sector of the regions.

The proposals endorsed by the commission will be used when drafting materials for a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council.
