Following the President’s instructions, Mr Kuivashev suggested practical measures on further developing modern sports infrastructure, as well as on maintaining sport facilities and bringing them up to proper conditions.

First Deputy Minister of Sport Azat Kadyrov described the amendments that are to be introduced into the Strategy for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport in the Russian Federation until 2030, and spoke of sharing positive regional experiences in this area.

The participants discussed the need to create conditions for athletes on Russian national teams in all Olympic and Paralympic sports. They also spoke about parallel imports of certain categories of sports equipment that are needed by national and regional teams.

The participants put forth proposals on upgrading the Strategy for the Development of the Sports Industry until 2035, with some proposals on increasing the competitiveness of domestic sports equipment and gear in international markets including standardisation and certification.

They also reviewed proposals on upgrading the legal requirements for developing and equipping the sports infrastructure and obtaining state orders.

Reports were given by officials from the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, the Russian Association of Sports Facilities, and other organisations.

The draft report will be finalised and presented at the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport session.
