At a meeting with President of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wu Bangguo they discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation including inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as the results of the previous day's talks.

The head of the Russian state reiterated his condolences to the Chinese people in connection with the earthquake that claimed the lives of more than 55,000 people.

At a meeting with Vice President of China Xi Jinping the President of Russia said that he would order additional shipments of humanitarian aid to be sent to the Chinese regions affected by the earthquake.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also met with Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Jia Qinglin.

As he opened the meeting with students and teachers of Beijing University, Dmitry Medvedev spoke about his views on the prospects for the strategic partnership between Russia and China.

Then the Russian head of state talked with Chinese students in the university campus.

On the same day the President laid a wreath at the People's Heroes Monument. The monument was erected in memory of fighters for national independence and the freedom of the Chinese people killed in the 19th and 20th centuries.

At the end of his official visit to China Dmitry Medvedev met with officials of the Russian Embassy in China.
