December 1, 2005

The orders for the Government concern protecting children and improving the problem of child homelessness, providing students with reductions in public transport, settling issues related to military service, providing higher education for servicemen, providing citizens who worked in the Far North with pensions, providing certain categories of citizens with medicine at reduced rates, and making television resources available to people who are hard of hearing.

Vladimir Putin charged the Government with appointing a federal agency to supervise the implementation of federal target programmes and subprogrammes concerning providing young families and young graduates with housing in rural areas, as well as coordinating activities in this sphere and making necessary changes to existing law.

The President also demanded that the Government directly supervise the implementation of previous orders concerning compensation payments to citizens permanently living in the territory of the Chechen Republic for the destruction of housing and property damaged during the resolution of the crisis in the Republic.
