Mr Putin and Mr Kuchma discussed current issues connected with bilateral economic relations, including cooperation in the military-industrial sector, the outlook for energy cooperation and issues related to the free trade zone within the CIS. The two leaders also touched upon the implementation of the Naval Start and An-70 projects.
They agreed to resume the work of the Russian-Ukrainian strategic group, which will control the implementation of high-level agreements in order to develop comprehensive cooperation.
Mr Putin said that Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko’s recent visit to Moscow had been a success.
