The president listened to the reports by Nikolai Patrushev and Yury Chaika about the investigation into a number of crimes.

The FSB director reported on the preliminary results of the investigation into the act of terror in the Novgorod Region, where a passenger train was derailed on August 13.

The president instructed Patrushev to keep him informed on the investigation.

Yury Chaika reported to the president about his office’s investigation into a number of major crimes committed in Moscow and other regions. In particular, Chaika told the president about the progress made in the inquiry into the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya.
