As part of a working trip to Nizhny Novgorod Region, Vladimir Putin visited the new RusVinyl plant, a joint venture between Russian company SIBUR and Belgium’s SolVin, and took part in launching polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production.
The President toured the new plant, one of the biggest PVC producers, and inspected the finished products loading area. The plant has design capacity of more than 300,000 tonnes of PVC and 225,000 tonnes of caustic soda, which will cover 30 percent of the Russian market’s demand.
Mr Putin also took part in a video linkup with the Gorky Automotive Plant (GAZ) and launched the start of production of the new medium-duty truck GAZon Next.
