A meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council took place in Astana.
The narrow format meeting was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan. Later, the talks continued with participation of the delegations.
A package of documents has been signed following the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. These include decisions on the enforcement of the free trade zone agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam, which was signed on May 29, 2015; on the basic guidelines for the macroeconomic policies of the EAEU member states for 2016–2017; on the start of the talks to streamline the trade regime between the EAEU, its member states and the Republic of Serbia; and on the concepts of the common EAEU gas, oil and petrochemical markets.
