Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who has arrived in Russia on an official visit, held talks in the Kremlin.
The talks began with a one-to-one discussion between the leaders.
Senior Russian officials attending the talks include Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the Russian Section of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Tajikistan Marat Khusnullin, Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Fomin.
The consultations continued over a working breakfast with the participation of the delegations.
Following the talks, Vladimir Putin presented a Russian Federation state decoration, the Order For Service to the Fatherland, III degree, to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
A package of documents was signed following the talks, including a Plan for Industrial Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Action Plan for transport cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023–2025. In addition, a number of interdepartmental documents was signed on cooperation in various spheres, as well as an agreement between the Kurchatov Institute National Research Centre and the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan on research, science and technology cooperation.
Following the Russian-Tajikistani talks, Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon made press statements.
The agenda of the talks includes the current state and prospects for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, the economy and culture, as well as other key aspects of bilateral strategic partnership, and current regional and international issues.
On November 22, the leaders of the two countries met for an informal breakfast.
