Laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Following the military parade on Red Square, President Vladimir Putin and the heads of foreign states who had arrived in Moscow for celebrations of the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden and observed a moment of silence for those killed in the war.

Attending the ceremony were President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel y Bermúdez, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith and President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embalo.

After the flower-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden, Vladimir Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had a brief question and answer session with the media.
