President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr Japarov, I am happy to meet with you in a bilateral format this time.

We have already worked half a day on the CSTO agenda and now we have an opportunity to talk about our bilateral relations. There are plenty of issues to discuss but I would like to say at the outset that, in general, our relations are developing positively. Last year, there was remarkable growth in our trade – by 34 percent, if I am not mistaken. Russia is solidly in first place among Kyrgyzstan’s trade partners.

Of course, there are issues that have to be discussed separately. I am happy that we can talk them over on the sidelines of today’s international event.

I am very happy to have the opportunity to meet with you.

First, I would like to congratulate all of us on the 77^th anniversary of the Great Victory. This year we are also marking the 30^th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. I congratulate you and the great Russian people you represent on this anniversary.

We are always interested in and ready for cooperation with the Russian Federation in all areas.

Again, thank you for your warm welcome.
