Meeting with permanent members of the Security Council

Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.

The President briefed the permanent members of the Security Council on his recent telephone conversations with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu in the context of preparations for the visit by the President of Turkey to Russia scheduled for early August.

The recent decision by the International Olympic Committee regarding the Russian athletes was also on the agenda. Vladimir Putin is expected to meet with the Russian Olympic team tomorrow.

In addition, participants in the meeting discussed the situation with wildfires in various regions of Russia.

Issues related to the domestic economic agenda were also discussed.

Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev.
