Meeting of State Council Presidium working group on Russian Far East development

Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin chaired the second meeting of the working group to prepare for a State Council Presidium meeting on the further development of the Russian Far East.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, Far East Development Minister Alexander Galushka, representatives from the concerned federal executive bodies, as well as members of the State Council Presidium: Head of the Republic of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and Murmansk Region Governor Vladimir Pecheny; governors of Far Eastern regions: Vladimir Ilyukhin (Kamchatka Territory), Vladimir Miklushevsky (Primorye Territory) and Alexander Kozlov (Amur Region); as well as representatives of expert and research organisations and the business community.

Khabarovsk Region Governor Vyacheslav Shport, who headed the working group, updated the meeting participants on the results of efforts to prepare a report, which included the analysis of over 50 proposals that were submitted by federal ministries, agencies, development institutions, and Far Eastern regions and investors.

The meeting participants pointed out that the draft report covered all issues on the national agenda for the development of the Russian Far East and the first results of the implementation of the development model that was created following the November 29, 2012 meeting of the State Council Presidium. The draft report also included new solutions on ways to facilitate the development of this macro-region, attract new investment and also on the comprehensive social development of the Far East.

The working group decided to sum up the proposals and remarks it received and also to continue working on the draft report whose main provisions will be discussed at the third meeting of the working group.
