Presidential Aide, State Council Secretary Igor Levitin and Chairman of the State Council Commission on Transport, Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov co-chaired a videoconference meeting of the Commission on preparations for the State Council Presidium meeting on efforts to develop public transport in the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrei Bocharov, Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler, Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Artyukhov, heads of federal and regional authorities, as well as representatives of the business and professional expert communities.
In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin outlined the key issues of developing public transport, which will be considered at the upcoming State Council Presidium meeting.
Officials from the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Industry and Trade delivered reports. Participants in the meeting discussed the current situation in public transport and the prospects for its development amid the global challenges the sector faces, taking into account the long-term objectives, various development scenarios, macroeconomic and microeconomic factors that may have an impact on the results of the efforts to carry out strategic plans.
The proposals put forward by Commission members will serve as the basis for resolutions following the State Council Presidium meeting.
