Meeting with permanent members of the Security Council

Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council.

The discussion focused on the increased tensions around Syria and Turkey’s aggressive and unpredictable action.

There was also an exchange of views on the domestic agenda. In particular, Mr Putin announced that he has signed executive orders on improving the Federal Penitentiary Service’s work.

Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
