On the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad, the President visited the Battle of Stalingrad State Historical Memorial Museum on Mamayev Kurgan. He laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame in the Hall of Military Glory and honoured the memory of those who perished with a minute of silence.

Visiting the Proryv Panorama Museum

Vladimir Putin toured the recreation of the battle near the village of Arbuzovo on the southern tip of Nevsky Pyatachok during his visit to the Proryv [Breakthrough] Panorama Museum. The President also met with veterans and members of youth organisations, and watched a new feature film Frontier with them. Its main character was transported from today to January 1943, when bloody fighting took place on Nevsky Pyatachok.

At Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery, the President paid tribute to the memory of Leningrad residents and the defenders of the city as he laid flowers at the monument to the Motherland. Then, the President visited Nevsky Pyatachok military-historical complex, where he laid flowers at the Landmark Stone monument.
