Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
The meeting participants had a detailed exchange of views on the economic situation in Russia with a focus on the development of high technology and import replacement sectors of the economy.
In addition, ahead of the talks beginning in Geneva there was a discussion of the prospects of settlement in Syria.
Taking part in the meeting were Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
