The meeting was decided following an appeal to the President from a number of human rights activists in connection with the selection of a candidate for the post of Russian Human Rights Ombudsman.

Developing the institution of the human rights ombudsman and the effectiveness of the system of regional human rights ombudsmen will be the subjects of discussion.

Chairman of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Mikhail Fedotov and Human Rights Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin will attend the meeting.
