Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council.
The meeting discussed current social and economic issues. An exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine also took place.
Other subjects on the agenda included the prospects for settlement in Syria following the Montreuil round of talks as part of the Geneva-2 conference, and completion of preparations for the upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Security Council Secretary Rashid Nurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
