Vladimir Putin held a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council.
Meeting participants discussed issues relating to Russia’s social and economic development, particularly budgetary funding for law enforcement agencies and the Defence Ministry. They also talked about international affairs, in particular with regard to regional conflicts.
Other matters discussed included the situation concerning Russia’s diplomatic mission in Libya, which was recently the target of a daring attack, and the issue of ensuring the security of Russian diplomatic missions in general.
Taking part in the meeting were Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
