Summit participants discussed the outcomes of Russia’s presidency of the Commonwealth and identified priorities for the upcoming year.

Heads of the CSTO member states discussed the results of work in 2010. Raising the effectiveness of crisis-response mechanisms and strengthening the security of member countries and the region in general were the main subjects of attention.

Cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan in various domains, as well as mutual assistance following natural disasters were the subjects of discussion.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed regional issues and ways of developing economic cooperation with President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

A four-party meeting will take place on August 18, 2010, between President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
