Vladimir Putin held a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council.
Vladimir Putin discussed with meeting participants additional security measures and critical infrastructure protection in Crimea after Russian security services prevented a terrorist attack on the peninsula. The participants reviewed in detail scenarios of counter-terrorism security measures along the land border, offshore and in Crimea’s air space.
The meeting also featured a detailed discussion of the understandings reached during the President’s international meetings with the leaders of Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey and Armenia.
Apart from the international agenda, the participants discussed current domestic socioeconomic issues.
Taking part in the meeting where Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev.
